How do you update a classic Craftsman without losing its soul? You give it a Best Practice remix. We opened up this Madrona home to territorial Lake Washington views and flooded the interiors with natural light via new skylights and expansive glazing. The project earns its name from the primary suite—a true retreat featuring a soaking tub and a teak-lined shower floor. Finished with bold pops of color—including deep blue kitchen cabinetry and a vibrant yellow entry railing—this renovation is a joyful, modern sanctuary.

The primary bathroom features a glass-enclosed steam shower, with floor to ceiling tiles, teak floor, and luxurious tub enrobed in granite.

Original details of the home like coffered ceilings and a large brick fireplace were spruced up and paired with modern elements like new wall-to-wall glazing, expanding the exterior views to capture Lake Washington and bathe the living room with natural light.
