Out West Trading

At Best Practice Architecture, we specialize in translating a brand’s identity into physical, spatial experiences that feel unmistakably like themselves. For the flagship retail location of Pacific Northwest brand Out West Trading Co. at the new Suncadia Social, we embraced the majestic geographic backdrop of the Cascade Range as the literal and figurative catalyst for our design.

The centerpiece of the space is an expansive, sculpted mountainscape partition. Rather than acting as a simple scenic backdrop, this bold, geometric form does the heavy organizational work of the store: defining the layout, dividing the active floor from support functions, and sheltering a cozy reading snug and art gallery alcove. On the perimeter, warm wood slatwalls offer highly flexible retail displays, complemented by custom-fabricated floor fixtures, risers, and display tables. Through a playful use of color-blocking and sculptural millwork, we’ve created a vibrant, structured, and joyful retail journey that celebrates the outdoor lifestyle of Suncadia.
