Interior renovation
Sound Builders NW
This multi-phase, substantial remodel exquisitely updates a mid-century kitchen, master suite, home office and guest bath.
Upon entering the home, the office area was delineated from the public space by a new central freestanding furniture-like gesture that is a multi-functional coat closet, office message board and storage, and entry credenza.
Classically, the original mid-century kitchen and dining were small and blocked prime views and light into the living space. In order to open and improve the kitchen, walls were removed and a large beam needed for structural support was left exposed.
In both phases of renovation, the design intervention simultaneously reinforced the time period of the home while introducing contemporary details for an overall modern feel. This harmonious balance allows the old and new to integrate seamlessly into something entirely new.
Best Practice
To round-out this update, the master received a major upgrade with all new finishes, showers, and vanities rendered in classic rich walnut, brass hardware, and crisp white tile.
