Natural light and clear sealed plywood make up the material palette used to refresh a quirky Seattle design firm’s office. Plywood cladding wraps the largest room and defines the volume, and reappears throughout the space as a custom conference table, ziggurat seating element, as well as the reception design and cabinetry throughout the space. The enlarged communal area supports several types of informal seating, meeting and presentation arrangements, suited to the needs of this busy, creative firm.

By pulling the main conference room away from the windows, and opening up its large corner with sliding glass panels, daylight pours into the conference room, communal areas and illuminates lobby and breakout spaces.

A custom (super long) plywood conference table was fabricated in three separate sections, all on casters, to promote using the large room as a breakout area for smaller meetings.
